William Hemmer, DVM

Dr. HemmerDr. Hemmer received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia, where he obtained Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Poultry Science. Dr. Hemmer is the managing partner of the Arnold Veterinary Hospital.

Deborah Christine Leigh, VMD

Dr. LeighDr. Leigh has been with the Arnold Veterinary Hospital since 2000. She taught the Veterinary Assistant continuing education course as an associate professor at Anne Arundel Community College between 2002 and 2008. She also kicked off the first year of the Pets and Vets program at the College’s Kids in College Summer Program in 2008. She earned her veterinary degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. Prior to earning her VMD, Dr. Leigh worked as a laboratory technician in a molecular biology lab at the Dental School of the University of Pennsylvania from 1991 to 1994. She completed her undergraduate studies at Penn State University, where she received a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology/Vertebrate Physiology. Dr. Leigh is raising a family in Arnold.

Dr. Kenneth Lee, DVM, MS

Dr. LeeDr. Lee joined the professional staff at Arnold Veterinary Hospital in the fall of 2008. He has been practicing veterinary surgery and medicine for more than 20 years. Dr. Lee graduated from the veterinary program at Chulalong University in Bangkok, Thailand. He then completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. He was accepted into and completed the Surgical Residency Program at Colorado State University, obtaining a Master’s degree in Veterinary Surgery. His areas of special interest are soft tissue surgery and orthopedics.

Dr. Paula Prestia, DVM

Dr. LeighDr. Prestia joined the medical staff of Arnold Veterinary Hospital in November, 2008. A native of Severna Park, Maryland, she received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia. After graduation, she worked at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute and the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison on clinical trials. Dr. Prestia received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Wisconsin’s School of Veterinary Medicine. She has practiced in Delaware, Virginia and Maryland. She has a special interest in ophthalmology and internal medicine.

Dr. Stephanie Stieler, DVM

Dr. StielerDr. Stieler joined the professional staff at the Arnold Veterinary Hospital in July of 2010. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Central Florida, with a degree in Biology. Prior to returning to Maryland, Dr. Stieler most recently practiced in Ohio.
